Quickly, give us the title and genre of your book and a 30-word or less tagline: HUNTED, dystopian. Freedom is a fleeting hope for Lexi and Cole. No one can escape the grasping fingers of Wilson. Big decisions will be made but how many lives will it cost?
Who is your intended audience and why should they read your book?
We’ve targeted mostly young adults but have found a lot of middle aged people, especially females, enjoy them as well. Read our book because our concept is unique and we have a kick butt dog as a main character! 😉
How did you come up with the title of your book or series?
Originally, we named our first few files ‘SIN.’ But as we wrote more and more, Branded seemed the better title. Don’t you think?
Tell us a little bit about your cover art. Who designed it?
Why did you go with that particular image/artwork? The first book, Branded, was designed by Regina Wamba at Mae I Design. We had a concept in our minds and she nailed it the first time. After we were picked up by our fabulous publisher, Month9, we had Kimberley Marsot design the cover for Hunted. We think she did a wonderful job making it fit into the theme of The Sinners Series.
Who is your favorite character from your book and why?
Lexi, of course! She’s a pretty good mix of both of us as writers. She has curly hair and light eyes like we do. She goes through some tough experiences and comes out stronger. We both enjoy writing from her perspective because she’s an extension of ourselves. We also love writing Zeus because we’re both dog lovers and he’s a fun character to write!
How about your least favorite character? What makes them less appealing to you?
There weren’t any characters we disliked writing. Each of them, including the Commander and Wilson, bring a different flavor to the story making it more enjoyable to write.
If you could change ONE thing about your novel, what would it be?
Why? We would’ve included more backstory to keep from having to do so much in HUNTED. However, we love both books and the journey it’s taken to finish them.
Whats the next project for you?
We’re working on book 3 in The Sinners Series, LIBERATED.What are you reading right now? Just finished reading Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. It was wonderful
Any advice for upcoming authors?
It’s all about perseverance and never giving up even when things seem impossible!!! Never stop learning your craft, say thank you to those who help you along the way, and give it your best every time!
About Abi and Missy
Abi and Missy met in the summer of 1999 at college orientation and have been best friends ever since. After college, they added jobs, husbands and kids to their lives, but they still found time for their friendship. Instead of hanging out on weekends, they went to dinner once a month and reviewed books. What started out as an enjoyable hobby has now become an incredible adventure.
